It truly was.... a perfect Christmas. Rather bittersweet, for a number of reasons, but the one most on my mind is that it's the last Christmas in our home in Moorpark for a very long time. We have celebrated Christmas in that home every year since 1995- that's 18 Christmasses full of family, great food, traditions, music, gifts, decorations, stories, movies and so many more special memories. We've read the Christmas story from Luke every year. Most years we've read
The Polar Express. Annie and I sing "Why Can't Every Day Be Christmas" together a capella every Christmas eve. Usually I play the dulcimer. (But this year my instruments were in New Jersey). Bruce always fixes a spectacular Christmas morning breakfast. The NOEL candle holders get switched around to read LEON. Special ornaments from vacations and events are placed on the tree.
Most of these things happened this year. We were sad that our two boys and their families were unable to be in California for Christmas, but we had a wonderful time with the girls, son-in-law Jon, and Amy and Jon's adorable pup Mia. I think Mia really made our Christmas extra special, it was like having a little grandchild in the home!
On my way back to New Jersey yesterday, I had a 3 hour delay in Chicago, so I created two layouts about our perfect Christmas. I hope you enjoy. Click on the images for a closer view.

| My sister Lynne prepared the entire Christmas feast. It was delicious! Present were Mom, Lynne, brother-in-law Bruce, nephew Doug & girlfriend Julia, and our family. |

| Bruce fixed a fantastic breakfast. We opened presents, and later in the afternoon, went to the movies to see "Lincoln". |

As usual, your layouts are amazing, but I can see a definite creative growth at work...I am in awe!
Hope you and Bruce have a great New Year!
Stef! Your layouts are amazing! And, I was cracking up at the NOEL to LEON antics. Happens at our home, too! We loved sneaking into my in-laws living room and stealthly switching the letters around. They never caught us! Thanks for sharing your creativity!
